User Problems

Insurance agents and consumers need help with efficient processes, a lack of user-friendly tools, and difficulty accessing accurate information quickly. These issues often result in a cumbersome experience, leading to errors and frustration.

Business Problems

The insurance industry is often hampered by complex processes, inefficiencies, and outdated systems, which leads to high operational costs and poor user experiences for agents and consumers.

User Research

We conducted interviews and surveys with insurance agents and consumers to understand their pain points.

  • Agents spend too much time on administrative tasks.

  • Consumers need help understanding and comparing insurance policies.

  • Both groups need more intuitive and accessible digital tools.

"I need a way to compare policies."

"Automating admin eats up my day."

"An integrated CRM tailored to insurance would save time and reduce errors."

Ideation

We brainstormed various feature concepts to address the identified issues. After evaluating these ideas through a value/effort matrix, we prioritized the following features:

  1. Federal Subsidy Estimates

  2. Insurance CRM

  3. Quoting Engine

  4. Comprehensive Policy Database with Enrollment Solutions

Validation

We conducted a series of usability tests to validate these findings with prototypes of the new applications. Feedback indicated a strong need for streamlined processes and more precise information presentation.

Features

These features were selected based on extensive user research and feedback, ensuring they address the most critical pain points. They include essential tools like real-time subsidy estimates, a tailored CRM, a quoting engine, and an intuitive policy database with streamlined enrollment solutions.

Federal Subsidy Estimates

Provides users with real-time estimates of federal subsidies, helping them make informed decisions about their insurance options.

Tradeoffs

Initially, we planned to offer all features as part of a single package. However, based on user feedback, we decided to roll out the features in phases to ensure better adoption and feedback incorporation.

Impression

  • Enhanced platform efficiency and scalability.

  • Improved business margins and reduced risk for brands.

  • Over 50,000 new users within the first six months.

  • Positive feedback from agents and consumers regarding the ease of use and improved processes.

Final Thoughts

This project highlighted the importance of user-centered design and iterative development. By focusing on the needs of insurance agents and consumers, we created a solution that significantly improved their experience and efficiency. The project's success reinforced the value of integrating advanced UI/UX design and development to create impactful technology solutions.
